The firefighters of the UFA not only selflessly protect the public in times of crisis, but also provide important community outreach. For over a century, the UFA has been a central feature of these historic Philadelphia suburbs.

The Bala Cynwyd civic association, known as "The Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd," was established in 1906 and is one of the oldest and most well respected civic groups in eastern Pennsylvania. The civic association regularly monitors commercial development, zoning, education, and quality of life issues in Bala Cynwyd (Montgomery County, PA), and is a frequent presence at state, county and township hearings and meetings.

Philabundance is a non-profit organization that fights hunger and malnutrition in the Philadelphia and suburban region by forming partnerships with private sector companies to gather surplus food and distribute it to local social service agencies that assist people in need. The Media & Government Relations Committee performs policy making and lobbying activities.
