Lindy Re-Appointed National Criminal Justice Act Panel Representative for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania

Jeffrey M. Lindy, Esquire, is pleased to announce that he has been re-appointed by the Chief United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to serve as the National Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel Representative for the District. As the representative of all 200 Panel attorneys in the District, Mr. Lindy will act as the point of contact between Panel members and others within the judicial branch with respect to the CJA program. Mr. Lindy will serve as a resource to all Panel members in their defense of federal criminal cases, working with the Federal Defender for the District to assure competent representation of criminal defendants. Mr. Lindy will provide substantive and administrative assistance to the Panel attorneys, as well as continuing legal education courses.

Lindy Appointed by Phila. Bar Chancellor to Serve as Member of Judicial Selection and Retention Commission

Jeffrey M. Lindy, Esquire, is pleased to announce that he has been appointed by Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Rudy Garcia to serve as a Member of the Association's Judicial Selection and Retention Commission. The Commission evaluates judicial candidates to help voters make informed decisions about candidates for judicial office without regard to political party affiliation. The Commission's evaluations are based on rigorous criteria such as legal ability, educational background, experience, temperament, administrative ability, integrity and devotion to improvement of the quality of justice.

Lindy Selected by Phila. Bar Chancellor to Serve as Co-Chair of Communications & Education Working Group of the Civil Gideon Task Force

Jeffrey M. Lindy, Esquire, is pleased to announce that Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Rudy Garcia has selected him to serve as Co-Chair of the Communications & Education Working Group of the Civil Gideon Task Force in 2011. Mr. Lindy will be responsible for developing an education and communications plan to inform the legal and public community about the critical need to expand the right to counsel to include low-income people faced with the threatened loss of basic human needs, such as the loss of shelter and child custody. The mission of the Task Force is to investigate and consider all aspects of an effective system to implement a right to counsel in those areas of adversarial civil proceedings where such basic human needs are at stake.

Lindy Appointed to Lead Two Montgomery County Bar Association Committees

Jeffrey M. Lindy, Esquire, is pleased to announce that he has been appointed by Montgomery County Bar Association President, the Honorable Carolyn T. Carluccio, to serve as Co-Chair of the Federal Court Practice Committee and Vice-Chair of the Government Relations Committee in 2011. These important standing Committees meet regularly to keep members updated on changes in the law specific to these practice areas, and to serve as forums for networking and the exchange of information.

Mr. Lindy has offices in Philadelphia and Montgomery County where he and the attorneys associated with his firm concentrate their practice in federal and state criminal defense, and represent both corporate and individual clients during all phases of criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings.

Mr. Lindy is a former federal prosecutor from the Philadelphia U.S. Attorney's Office and a former Assistant District Attorney from the Brooklyn D.A.'s Office.
